Alternative simplified credit
In accounting, alternative simplified credit means the research credit computed as 14% of QREs above 50% of the average QREs of the three prior years, or 6% of current QREs if any one of those years had none; elected on a timely filed original return (or an amended one only if no credit was claimed for that year) and binding for later years unless revoked.
Also called ASC method.

The lesson that teaches this
From the free founder back-office course, taught on one company's books, with exercises to work it yourself.
For founders
The same idea written for a founder: what it costs a startup that ignores it, and what to do in a real month.
What it is not called
Each of these means something else. Use one here and an accountant reading the product notices.
- ASC alone (in this system, the FASB Codification)
Components that render the terms it depends on
No component names this concept outright, but it's built from terms that components do name. These render credit.
