Free accounting tools

The checks an accountant actually runs.

Not a calculator with a currency symbol on it. Each of these exists because the alternative is a desk calculator, a printout and a pen — or a web tool that uploads a client’s data to somebody else’s server. These run entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste leaves the tab.

Lopifi Tools for Chrome

Foot a PDF the way you would on paper.

Drag a box over a column on a bank statement and it sums the figures from the text layer — parentheses negative, trailing signs negative, European grouping understood, percentages ignored — then tells you whether it foots to the printed total.

  • Tick marks with a legend that prints
  • Sticky notes that merge between colleagues
  • An adding-machine tape you can export
  • On-device AI, or none at all
What it does, and how to install it

What these deliberately don’t do.

Not missing features. It is what makes them safe to point at a client’s bank statement, and the reason there is nothing here to breach.

  • No silent OCR

A scanned page gets a clear warning, not a plausible wrong number.

  • No live FX rate

You type the rate, because the correct rate is the one in your accounting policy, not today’s.

  • No auto-posting

Every output is something you copy, look at, and paste.

  • No cloud

No account, no sync, no share link, no cloud AI. Sharing a set of notes is sending a file.

Common questions.

What are the Lopifi tools?

22 small calculators for the checks an accountant actually runs: diagnosing a difference, finding which invoices a deposit paid, building depreciation and lease schedules that tie to the cent, allocating an amount penny-exact, and pricing payment terms as the borrowing they are.

Is anything I type sent to a server?

No. Every tool computes in the browser — there is no upload, no account and no logging of what you enter. That is deliberate: the figures people would paste in are client figures.

Why does a difference divisible by nine mean a transposition?

Swapping two adjacent digits changes a number by nine times the difference between them, so any transposition error leaves a gap that divides evenly by nine. The difference tool checks that first, then tests for a doubled entry, a sign flip and an omitted item.

Can I use these on a PDF?

Yes — the same tools ship in the Lopifi Tools Chrome extension, which runs them on top of any PDF you open: box a column, it sums it from the text layer and tells you whether it foots to the printed total.
