Duplicate payment
In accounting, duplicate payment means the same obligation paid twice — typically one invoice entered twice, or paid once by check and again by ACH. Found by matching vendor, invoice number and amount, and recovered by a vendor credit or a refund, not by editing the payment.

Duplicate payment, in use
Quoted from the document that use the word: what it does to an interface, in the spec's own words.
Duplicate payment is one of the most common AP losses, and one of the most preventable.
What it is not called
Each of these means something else. Use one here and an accountant reading the product notices.
- overpayment (an excess of any cause)
- duplicate bill (the second entry, before it is paid)
Components that render this
These components name it in their spec, grouped and labeled exactly as the catalog shows them.
Components that render the terms it depends on
Few components name this concept outright, but it's built from terms they do name. These render vendor credit, invoice, credit, refund, vendor.
