Amplitude is hired to count what people do in a product and show it as funnels, retention and trends, alongside surveys, experiments and replay in the same account. Below: the published plans, the realistic replacements, and the work of moving tracking without losing the questions the team relies on.
Product analytics accumulates. Years of named events, saved charts and the habit of checking a dashboard before planning are what keep the plan alive, not any one feature.
Add-on products such as surveys and experiments tie more of the workflow to one account, which makes the whole bundle harder to question than any single line.
Only alternatives we have checked. An open-source project is listed with the license its repository reports, on the date shown; one whose license could not be read as a single standard id is not offered as open source. Read the license guide before running any of them.

Each feature below is what the product's own page or README says, linked to where we read it on the date shown. Pros and cons are limited to what those pages state and to what the path itself changes. We do not rank products on quality.

List prices as printed on the vendors' pages on the checked date. Amplitude's Growth and Enterprise plans print no price. Taxes, add-ons and what a plan includes can differ at checkout.
Product analytics counts events and groups them by user. The cost usually follows how much is tracked and which add-on products are switched on, so settle what is used before comparing vendors.
Amplitude lists several products under one name. Replacing the analytics does not replace a survey or experiment product the team may also run through it.
Samples are made up and are not Amplitude's prices. Type in the figures from your own invoice or order form.
The honest yearly cost of running open-source software yourself, set against the bill it replaces, with the seat count where it stops paying.
Paid seats against seats in use: what the idle ones cost a year, and what you save by right-sizing at renewal.
Arithmetic only, not tax, accounting or legal advice. Check the figures against your own order form.
In outline:
List the events being sent, the charts and dashboards people open, and who opens them. Note any survey, experiment or flag that runs through the account.
Write down the few questions the tool must answer and rebuild each in the candidate tool from a sample of real events.
Send events to both tools for a month. Compare counts for the same period and explain any gap before trusting the new one.
Remove the old tracking code, export what you need to keep, and end the plan inside the contract's notice window.
Run the vendor report for QuickBooks Online or Xero, then open the free audit.

Send us the export and see which lines are worth a second look. A connected version is planned. Amplitude is one of the lines worth a look.

“In use” is your call: last sign-in in the past 30 or 90 days from the vendor's admin report. A seat for someone on leave is not idle.
