SurveyMonkey is hired to run surveys and analyze what comes back. Simple surveys are easy to move; the question is whether your team uses the analysis features or only the link and an export. Below: published team plans, the open-source options we verified, and how to leave safely.
One team runs a customer survey, the results get quoted in a deck, and the plan renews because a repeat survey is on the calendar.
The analysis people rely on is the real tie. If the team only needs the link and a spreadsheet export, the product is doing a smaller job than the plan suggests.
Only alternatives we have checked. An open-source project is listed with the license its repository reports, on the date shown; one whose license could not be read as a single standard id is not offered as open source. Read the license guide before running any of them.

Each feature below is what the product's own page or README says, linked to where we read it on the date shown. Pros and cons are limited to what those pages state and to what the path itself changes. We do not rank products on quality.

List prices as printed on SurveyMonkey's pricing page on the checked date, per user per month, billed annually, with a minimum of three users on the team plans. Responses beyond the plan limit cost $0.15 each on paid plans. The individual plans tab was not read, so they are not listed. Taxes are not included.
Collecting answers is the easy half. The analysis and reporting people rely on is the half to check. If a team only uses the survey link and a CSV, the job is small. If they use crosstabs and significance testing, the replacement has to cover those or the team will export to something else.
Samples are made up and are not SurveyMonkey's prices. Type in the figures from your own invoice or order form.
The honest yearly cost of running open-source software yourself, set against the bill it replaces, with the seat count where it stops paying.
Paid seats against seats in use: what the idle ones cost a year, and what you save by right-sizing at renewal.
Arithmetic only, not tax, accounting or legal advice. Check the figures against your own order form.
In outline:
List active surveys, who owns each, where the link is published and which reports people actually read.
Rebuild one real survey in the replacement, including its logic, and send a test to yourself.
Export raw responses for every survey you need to keep, and store them where access is controlled.
Replace the links in emails, pages and onboarding flows, and submit a test after each change.
Keep an export for a month, then end the plan inside the contract's notice window.
Run the vendor report for QuickBooks Online or Xero, then open the free audit.

Send us the export and see which lines are worth a second look. A connected version is planned. SurveyMonkey is one of the lines worth a look.

“In use” is your call: last sign-in in the past 30 or 90 days from the vendor's admin report. A seat for someone on leave is not idle.
